Frank Morrison – Past President of KPP

Sad news of a past president of Kansas Paraguay Partners. Frank was president from 1998 through 2000.  He was a long time member and very active in the Agriculture Committee.  One of his achievements was introducing horticulture therapy to Paraguay.  Frank Morrison led the initiative of training both Kansans and Paraguayans in the skill of using plants and gardening to provide therapeutic results in working with adults and youth in dealing with physical and emotional problem

Frank D. Morrison passed away July 23, 2013, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Morrison was hired in Kansas as an Extension Specialist, Horticulture Programs in
1966.  In 1971, he became the Section Leader and Extension Specialist, Fruit & Nut
Crops. The title changed in 1977 to Extension State Leader, Horticulture Programs. Dr.
Morrison stepped down from the Extension State Leader position in 1994 and he retired in
1998.

Dr. Morrison is survived by daughters, Diana Havenstein, and husband Steve, Joplin, MO;
Christine Morrison, Taiwan; son Douglas Morrison, and wife Edie, of Wamego; son Eric
Morrison, Jordan Valley, OR; daughter Janice Britt, Lawrence; and son Edgar Morrison,
Bosie, ID; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his
wife Lavonna, parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the First United
Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS.  The family will receive friends
immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

The family requests memorial donations to the Good Shepherd Hospice House or the
First United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home,
1317 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan KS  66502.

the address listed above.
