Hola!
I have been enjoying your web site for the past half hour; your organization is wonderful.
I returned from Paraguay three weeks ago after spending 27 months as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I worked with teachers and students, and I would love to give one of them the opportunity to visit the USA…
I do have questions, and perhaps someone could answer the first two; does the Paraguayan teacher need to speak English, and how are they selected?
I am staying with family in Massachusetts, but I would be willing to head to Kansas because of the Paraguay connection…
Thank you so much for your time,
Carole
Hello, Carole! I just saw this post – my apologies for the delay in responding! If you are speaking about our teacher exchange, there is actually no selection process, per se. We do our best to provide a home stay and an interesting experience for anyone who wants to come, so long as they can pay their own airfare and spending money. If you are speaking of receiving a travel grant from Partners of the Americas, there is an application process which requires the approval of the boards on both sides – Paraguay and Kansas. We’d welcome your involvement in any way, shape or form!
