Visual Encounters with Paraguay

Celebrating 40 Years of Kansas-Paraguay Partnership

Exhibit was January 28 to April 13, 2008.

The exhibition featured over 150 works collected by members of the Kansas Paraguay Partners, as well as a number of pieces that were selected by the exhibit curator, Reinhild Janzen, when she was in Paraguay last spring.

The Kansas-Paraguay partnership celebrated 40 years of service, promoting the exchange of people and supporting social, educational, and cultural programs and projects. We are one of 60 partnerships in the Partners of the Americas, a nongovernmental nonprofit organization that finds ways for volunteers to work together in the Western Hemisphere.
We want to acknowledge the encouragement and support received from the Comite Paraguay Kansas, our sister organization in Paraguay, the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay; the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State; the Partners of the Americas and the Washburn University Mulvane Art Museum, without which this exhibit would not have been possible.

Location: Mulvane Art Museum @ Washburn University
17th & Jewell, Topeka, KS
