Women2Women Cultural Connection & Leadership Program

We are very pleased to announce that Parendi Birdie, Lawrence High School senior, and Paraguayan Youth Ambassadors host in 2008 AND Tess Wilson, 2008 Topeka High School graduate (and granddaughter of KPP past president Nan Wilson) have been selected to attend the 2008 Women2Women Cultural Connection & Leadership Program. Their extraordinary involvement in leadership and community service programs and answers to the essay questions set them apart from the hundreds of applications they received.

This year¹s conference promises to be an exciting educational experience. In

addition to meeting conference participants from around the world, both young women will
have the opportunity to network and learn from a diverse group of women
leaders representing business, government, media and community service.

Empower Peace will cover all costs associated with the conference for participants and teachers/chaperones.

Empower Peace is proud to announce that the Women2Women – America will take place from
August 9 – 16, 2008 at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Cambridge is a suburb of Boston.

The goal of W2W is to provide young women students from around the world with the opportunity to learn, network, and acquire the leadership and professional development skills needed to succeed. P
articipants will also meet and interact with their counterparts from around the world.

The core theme of Women2Women – America: International Women’s Rights. Sub-themes will involve: cultural leadership, government and public service, and media technology and media literacy.

Those chosen to take part in the conference must have demonstrated interest in leadership development,
the democratic process and public diplomacy. The conference is our effort to empower young women to become future leaders.

The Women2Women Cultural Connection & Leadership Program sponsored by Empower Peace is an opportunity for young women ages 15-19 who are interested in participating in a cultural exchange visit to Boston, MA, and meeting with national and international women leaders. It is a forum aimed at empowering future young women leaders from the Middle East, Near East, and the United States. Through a series of workshops, keynote speeches and cultural outings, participants will acquire skills and insight on how to become future leaders.

Held at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, these young women learn first-hand from established professional women leaders from the Government, Business, Media and Entertainment sectors. Participants also have many opportunities to engage and interact with prominent women leaders from around the world.

Women2Women provides young women around the world with the opportunity to learn, network and acquire leadership and professional development skills that will empower them to succeed and make a difference in their respective communities and countries. The Conference is our effort to empower young women to become tomorrow’s future leaders.

Empower Peace has sponsored two Women2Women conferences ~ one in 2006 and one in 2007. In total more than 150 young women have participated in the two Women2Women conferences. Participants have come from Pakistan, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Canada, the Palestinian Territories, Israel, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, and the United States.
